Consumers could fuel a trend for diets designed for their personal DNA, Mintel said.This would come off the back of interest in natural and ‘getting back to basics’, which has boosted ancient grains and superfoods. Zegler said consumers would seek more natural products not highly-manufactured foods and “unlock the keys to their personal physiology and design diets by connecting with their own ancestry or genetic make-up”.
